Functional Cognition: Supporting and Expanding Clinical Application

November 9 and 10, 2007

Hosted by University of Akron Akron, Ohio

On behalf of the Allen Cognitive Network and our Symposium attendees, we extend our deep appreciation to all 24 platform presenters and 3 posters who shared their time and expertise to further the understanding and use of the Cognitive Disabilities model to better serve those with differing cognitive abilities.

Course evaluations were overwhelmingly good. Some examples:

"Delightful presenter!" "Nice to hear from psychology field", "Excellent presentation. Great to hear from Dr. Velligan since she has done much of the research on psychometric properties (of the ACLS)."
Dawn I. Velligan Ph.D. Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas

"This helped clarify the ADM for me." "I love case stories and pictorial records for teaching purposes; helps with integrating practical application with individual real people."
Catherine A. Earhart BA, OTR/L Supervisor of Occupational Therapy, LAC+USC Healthcare Network, Psychiatric Services, Los Angeles, California

From the Pre-symposium Workshop featuring the launch of

Manual for the Allen Cognitive Level Screen-5 (ACLS-5)
